Louise Oxley 250Louise Oxley lives in the D’Entrecasteaux Channel area, south of Hobart. Her second and most recent collection of poetry, Buoyancy, was shortlisted in the WA Premier’s Literary Awards 2008; her poems have also won awards such as the Bruce Dawe and Shoalhaven prizes. In 2011 Louise Oxley was writer in residence at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. In recent years she has enjoyed collaborating with visual artists or responding to their work. The Brett Whiteley poems were written with the assistance of a new work fellowship from the Australia Council, which she gratefully acknowledges.
