Meg Foster

Meg Foster is a historian and writer who specialises in settler colonial, ethnographic and public history. She is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes, including the 2018 Aboriginal History Award from the History Council of NSW, and was recently a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge from 2018–19. Her current research investigates the ‘other’ bushrangers (Aboriginal, African-American, Chinese, and female bushrangers) and their impact on Australian history and social memory. As well as her academic research, Meg works as an historical consultant and has a particular interest in making connections between history and the contemporary world.
