Adam Bowles

Adam Bowles is Associate Professor in Asian Religions at the University of Queensland in Australia. A scholar of Sanskrit, much of his work is on the great epic the Mahābhārata, on which he has published three volumes. He is co-author of A History of State and Religion in India (Routledge, 2012) and has written numerous articles on South Asian cultural, literary, and religious pasts. He is currently working on a translation of the Critical Edition of the Mahābhārata’s thirteenth book, as well as on a project titled The Queensland Atlas of Religion.
