Of the picture books reviewed here, all but one is about animals. There are sheep in Mem Fox’s story; Piglet and a host of farm animals in Margaret Wild’s book; Australian animals, birds, fishes and reptiles in Bronwyn Bancroft's ABC; and representatives of the whole animal kingdom in Libby Hathorn’s text. The one exception is Libby Gleeson’s Cuddle Time, a gentle story about two children.
