Moira McKinnon

Moira McKinnon

Moira McKinnon is a specialist in population health and infectious disease, especially emerging ones. Born and trained in Western Australia, she has worked in many rural and remote locations in Australia as a general practitioner, and as a population health physician in many areas of the world. She is currently the Chief Medical Health Officer for the Province of Saskatchewan in Canada. Dr McKinnon is committed to the development of ‘One Health’, which is an approach to environmental, animal, and human health that takes a holistic view of health, incorporating the interaction of the three spheres. Dr McKinnon has published in scientific journals. She has also won an award for her short fiction.
