Peter Goldsworthy divides his time equally between writing and medicine. He has won literary awards across many genres - poetry, the short story, the novel, and in theatre. His novels have sold over 400,000 copies in Australia, and been translated into many languages. His most recent book is the collection of short stories, Gravel, shortlisted for the ASAL Gold Medal, and the Steele Rudd Award. In 2011, Night Train theatre company in Perth will perform a stage adaptation of his 1996 novel Wish; and Belvoir Street theatre in Sydney a stage adaption of his 1999 short story 'The Kiss'. In September he will be appearing at the Berlin International Literary Festival, coinciding with the publication of his fourth novel to be translated into German, Everything I Knew.
